Access NOV

The Access NOV is NOV’s next-generation data management and visualization platform. It is a collection of multiple applications. Table, Dashboard, Real-Time Viewer, and other apps can satisfy different users’ needs. I participated in the research and design of two apps: Product Bulletin and WellData. The Product Bulletin is an app that managers can subscribe and track multiple product lines. The WellData app just released the beta version and can allow experts to monitor and analyze drilling data on a browser anywhere in the world. During the internship, I closely collaborated with PM, dev, QA, and other designers.

Unfortunately, due to NDA, I can’t share specific details about my work. If you would like to learn more about my experience, feel free to contact me!

Product Bulletin

The Product Bulletin was released on Access NOV two years ago and was one of the most frequently used applications on Access NOV. However, the user feedback we got from the marketing team shows that there is a lot to improve.

Takeaways

Thanks to this capstone, I got a chance to use what I learned at UT iSchool to the real industry products. From research methods (learned in Usability, Understanding Research class), to design skills (practiced in Rapid Prototyping, Interaction Design class), these knowledge and experience helped me involved in the new team quickly.
